Mississauga, Ontario – December 20, 2016 – Local developer VANDYK group of companies has made the holiday season brighter for many children and families in need by organizing a Toy & Food Drive in support of the Mississauga Food Bank.
Throughout the month of December, VANDYK collected unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items from its staff, consultants, construction crew members and local residents.
On Thursday, December 15, VANDYK held an appreciation Christmas luncheon at the sales centre of its 292 unit condominium project, The Craftsman Condominium Residences, which is well into construction in Clarkson Village, Mississauga. In attendance were VANDYK’s hard-working construction team, trade partners, officers from Peel Regional Police and firefighters from Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services. The presentation of all food and toy donations was the cherry on top at this festive and heartfelt event.
“It was great to be able to throw this appreciation luncheon and bring everyone together right before the holidays,” says Domenic Zita, Executive VP of VANDYK group of companies. “A special thanks really goes to our hard-working crew and staff for everything that they do and their genuine generosity to give back to the community through this toy and food drive.”
All items were donated to the Mississauga Food Bank, a charitable organization that has been operating locally for 30 years. VANDYK together with the help of its dedicated team and community members, donated a total of 249 pounds of toys and 489 pounds of food, providing over 600 meals back to the community.
