Can I choose an alternate floor plan during my appointment?1
Alternate floor plans are chosen at the time of agreement of purchase and sale. Architectural plans and building permits are completed in advance of your appointment and cannot be revised therefore, choosing an alternate floor plan is not possible.
2Can I change the location of my furnace and hot water heater?
All engineered mechanical drawings have been completed in accordance with building codes, with functionality and safety in mind and cannot be revised.
Can I hire my own contractor or do some of the work myself?3
No. Due to liability and warranty concerns, the only persons permitted to work on your new home are VANDYK employees, VANDYK subtrades, and VANDYK suppliers.
4Can I supply VANDYK with my materials and fixtures (ie. sinks, flooring, etc) and have VANDYK install them?
Due to scheduling and to uphold your warranty in accordance with TARION standards and to ensure quality of craftsmanship and material, VANDYK does not permit purchasers to supply their own materials.
What if I want to upgrade my appliances?5
If you were given an appliance package as a bonus on the purchase of your new home, then you will receive an appliance voucher from VANDYK to take to our appliance supplier. VANDYK’s supplier will provide you with upgrade pricing (difference between standard and upgrade). If you choose upgraded appliances, you will have a written agreement between the supplier and yourself for the upgraded price and you will pay VANDYK’s supplier directly for the upgraded costs. Please remember that if you upgrade your appliances, you must supply the VANDYK Décor Consultant with appliance specifications as soon as possible. Please note that other costs may be incurred (i.e. cabinetry, electrical, framing, gas lines, etc.) if you choose to upgrade your appliances.
